On Friday around 1:15am a Redding resident, 40-year-old Sonny Shea was driving east on Butte Street when according to police, Shea crossed over a double yellow line and hit another vehicle travelling westbound near Sequoia Street.
According to Redding police, he was under the influence of prescription pills and was arrested at the scene for DUI. None of the pills he was taking were prescribed to him. Thankfully, neither party was injured during the crash.
