The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. He also did not have a bike light and was wearing dark clothing. Redding police had to temporarily shut down the intersection at Hilltop Drive and Browning Street for several hours to investigate and clear the scene. According to reports, this collision is still being investigated.
